Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Our machines are built well and they survive when competitive centrifuges have long expired.

A Barrett centrifuge is effective because of the high gravitational forces it generates. Fatigue from these forces must be taken into account when the reasonable life expectancy of a machine has been surpassed. Further consideration must be given to safety features, which on older machines, may not meet current requirements for the prevention of access to rotating equipment. Owners must carefully weigh these facts when deciding whether or not to keep an older machine in service.

Our concern for the safety of Barrett machine users leads us to take a firm stance regarding the support of aged machines. For this reason, we do not service or support machines after 35 years in the field. We also strongly recommend that owners of such equipment remove these machines from service or have them remanufactured by Barrett for the protection of their personnel and property.
